Business Discounts for Homeschoolers
Auntie’s Books – Auntie's offers a 10% homeschoolers’ discount without proof.
Barnes & Noble – Provide a "Declaration of Intent" or other proof of homeschooling to receive an Educator card that will allow for a 20% discount on books only (textbooks are not discounted). In addition, four times a year Barnes & Noble offers "Educator Days" when educators receive a 25% discount off most anything (excluding textbooks) and 10% off music.
Borders Books – Provide a "Declaration of Intent" or proof of homeschooling to receive an Educator card that will allow 20% off anything you purchase for school use. Twice a year Borders offers "Educator’s Savings" for 25% off any purchase, even for non-homeschool items.
Children's Corner Bookstore – Simply mention the homeschooler discount to receive 10% off.
FedEx Kinko's – Fill out the "Educator’s Discount" form in store, and receive a card that will entitle you to 10-15% off (the associate I spoke to could not give me the specific percentage).
Hoffman Music – Provide proof of homeschooling to receive a 20% discount on any purchase (no discount available for rentals) per the Manager, Allen Smith. The Homeschoolers' Discount cannot be combined with any other discount.
Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts – Register on their website to receive a Teacher’s Discount card for 10% off homeschooling purchases (www.joann.com, search word "teacher"). This card takes a LONG time to come, so in the meantime you can mention you have signed up for the Teacher's card but haven't received it yet and would like your Teacher's discount. The staff is not typically too informed about homeschoolers taking part in this program, but we are covered under it.
Office Depot – Offers a teachers' discount to homeschoolers who sign up for their program. Signing up will entitle you to 5% off any purchase, except copy/print jobs for which a 15% discount is offered. Furthermore, if you spend $200 or more in a three-month period, you will receive an additional 5% back in the form of a merchandise card to be used toward future purchases.
Staples – Sign up for the Teacher's Reward Program. You will receive 2 - 20% paid back on your purchases quarterly in the form of a rewards check good towards store purchases.
Uncle’s Games, Puzzles and More – Just notify the cashier that the Manager said that as a homeschooler, you qualify for the educator’s discount of 10%.
Waldenbooks – Sign up for your educator's discount and receive a card that will entitle you to 20% off nearly any purchase.
Whiz Kids – Just mention the homeschooler discount to receive 10% off.
