The CFHE board is aware of the post on the Heritage Mom blog. It is true that we did uninvite Amber as a speaker, shortly after extending an invitation in November 2022. We recognize that though our intent was not to cause pain, in the end, the impact has been very painful. We are deeply sorry.
While the situation is more nuanced than has been presented, our vetting process needed work. We are addressing that.
Ultimately, we recognize that racial injustice is a very real problem in the US and within the evangelical church. We acknowledge that we don’t fully understand the complexity of the problem or our contribution to it. We want to reflect Jesus more beautifully, which includes admitting mistakes and being willing to learn from them. That is what we are striving to do. We covet your prayers for wisdom and grace in a very difficult situation.
Humbly,
The CFHE Board
