Aby Rinella
Aby Rinella is a former public school teacher, turned passionate homeschool mom. She walked away from the school system the day she brought her firstborn home from the hospital, after her husband reminded her that God didn’t give them kids for someone else to raise.
She now has kids ranging from high school down to elementary school!
As a writer, speaker, and podcaster, Aby seeks to encourage and inspire parents to prioritize the call of training up their children in God’s Word and
to stand on truth in a culture that has lost its foundation.
She and her husband are board members of their state homeschool organization, where they encourage parents and stand for homeschool freedom.
The Rinella family also runs a non-profit, Called Beyond Adventures, where they take families impacted by disability on outdoor adventures, sharing the blessing of family, the value of life, and pointing to our Creator through spending time in His creation.
At our conference, Aby will be sharing the following keynote messages:
"Why Homeschool" - Why do you homeschool? A customized education? A more flexible schedule? The ability to teach to your children’s unique gifts and talents? Are these blessings enough to withstand the hard times? What if your plan starts to unravel? What if these things don’t pan out? Having a why is important, but having the right why is crucial to staying the course.
Come and join Aby as she discusses the heart of homeschool and the greatest ‘why’ of all. This session is for all homeschool parents; the new homeschool mom that is just now discovering her why, as well as the mom that has been doing it so long she may have lost her ‘why’ along the way. You will be inspired, encouraged, and have your passion for His calling lit on fire!
"But What About" - You know what they are because you get them too: Questions about Homeschooling. Many from within our own hearts, often leading to doubt and fear, and many from others, thinking they know what is best for our family. Come and join Aby as she shines truth on the common questions that creep into our hearts and threaten to derail our homeschool. You will find solid answers for yourself and build confidence to answer common questions homeschoolers get from outsiders.
"Called for Such a Time as This" - As we look around, we find ourselves asking “how can it be?” Evil seems to be prevailing everywhere we turn, and the world looks almost unrecognizable. Yet, this is our place on the world’s timeline; there never was another moment meant for us. We cannot let fear creep in and paralyze our purpose, nor can we turn and run. We have been called for such a time as this; called to live boldly, to stand on truth, and to make an impact on the next generation. We are parents in 2025 and we are the front line. We must fight for the hearts and minds of our children- preparing them to stand strong, to cling to the ONE that gives hope in dark places, and to answer the call placed on their lives. Come and be encouraged, learn from biblical examples of those that have gone before us, and be reminded that He will equip us for the call, and the time, He has created us for.

The joy of learning to play a musical instrument doesn't have to be limited to students in public or private schools. The Lilac City Homeschool Band gives students the opportunity to learn to play the musical instrument of their choice in a group environment. Our weekly session allows budding musicians to try their hand at different instruments and music styles ranging from basic band to jazz.
Our instructors are trained to give students a love for music that will last a lifetime. We are always looking for parents who are interested in joining the band so if you played when you were young, or want to learn something new in life, we hope you'll consider joining the Lilac City Homeschool Band.
