Rachael Carman
Author, Speaker, Podcaster, Co-owner of Apologia, and Homeschool Mom of 7

A respected international speaker, author, and podcaster, Rachael Carman has traveled the world speaking at conferences and retreats, teaching God’s Word to parents and children. Rachael and her husband, Davis, own Apologia 4 Education Ministries, a leading publisher of award-winning, creation-based curricula for home educators. A mom to seven and “Coco” to her grandchildren, Rachael is a twenty-six-year homeschool veteran and continues to be energized by affirming, encouraging, and equipping the next generation of homeschooling families to answer the call.

In 1997, Rachael Carman walked into the executive offices of Walk Thru the Bible Ministries with a baby on her hip and proposed adapting their signature live events into a full-blown Bible survey curriculum for families to study at home. Now, after twenty-five years of prayer and perseverance, Rachael is excited to see The Word in Motion: Old Testament and The Word in Motion: New Testament published as a resource for Christian parents to teach the Bible to their children at home. In addition to this, her books How Many Times Do I Have to Tell You? and How to Have a HEART for Your Kids are winsome calls for moms to live each day at the foot of His throne.

Dates with her beloved, dark chocolate, afternoon tea, reading a good book, butterfly gardening, beach walking, and bike riding—these are a few of her favorite things. More than anything else, Rachael is passionate about studying the Word of God and challenging and inspiring others to strengthen their faith by deepening their walk with the Lord.

In addition to the keynote sessions, Carmen will be presenting the following workshops:

What about "THAT" Child? 2.0 - The first thing you must know is that you’re not alone if you have one. And the second thing you need to know is that they’re sent to you as a blessing. If those two things seem unimaginable, if you’re thinking, “If you only knew.”, well, I do. I’ve got one too. So, what face comes to mind when you hear the 8 phrase ‘That” child? Do you smile or scowl when you see that face? Do you see yourself in that face? Do you struggle to like that child? Does it seem difficult? Impossible? I want you to know: That child is a world changer. God has a plan for that child. All of that energy, all those questions, all that strength, all THAT, is God-given for His glory. Come learn strategies for learning to love that child, to embrace that child, to train that child. They are worth it and He is worthy!

Beware the Worship of Ease - We’ve all heard the adage, “Nothing is easy”, and it’s true. So why then do we use ‘ease’ as the determining factor in our life choices? As a culture, we want dinner-making to be easy. We want house projects to be easy. We want relationships to be easy. We want our jobs to be easy. Look around, ‘easy’ seems to be a pretty high-value today. But what about the Christian life? What about marriage? What about parenting? Are any of those easy? Could it be that our longing for easy is what keeps us from becoming the people, spouses, and parents that God has intended for us to be? God is calling, He’s inviting us to be a part of His plan to change the world. It won’t be easy, but it will be for His glory and our good. Let’s get to work together.

Attention: Obsessive-Compulsive, Perfectionistic Control-Freaks-CHILL OUT! - As an obsessive-compulsive-perfectionist-control-freak herself, Rachael discusses how in many instances she is her own worst enemy when it comes to taking advantage of the freedoms of homeschool. Are you tied to your plan? Do you shiver at the idea of change or adjustment? Are you missing out on significant moments because you are focused on the trivial? It’s time to Chill Out and give control of it all to God for He is faithful.

How to DIE to Yourself and LIVE to Tell About It - Every day, we are bombarded with messages that try to convince us that we are individually important. The basic theme is that we should seek self. It’s all a big lie, from the king of lies. We must shift our focus away from ourselves and on to our awesome and mighty God. The world is relentlessly pursuing peace and contentment that can only come from a life that is totally surrendered to Christ and His will. Come learn how this realization radically changed Rachael’s life, direction, and purpose. It can change yours too.

Other workshops include:

The Off-Roading Homeschooling Family - Mike Reierson
Often, we set out to homeschool our children and think there's a clear and straightforward way to do it. I'm going to tell you about our homeschooling journey that has stretched and grown our faith, as we get further and further from our first understanding of education.

Become a LIGHT to the World - Virginia Work.
Personal evangelism starts at home. How can we teach our children to work out their faith in practical ways? This workshop will teach you how to move them out of the house and off the screens to witness to others of their faith and create service projects in their church and neighborhoods. Included are some tools to get children talking about their faith.

Transforming Inconvenient Hobbies into Teachable Moments - Patrick Nurre
Let’s face it, homeschooling can be messy! And to top it off, sometimes our kids are interested in things that don’t interest us, and are downright dirty.  Patrick’s practical message is an encouragement for those facing this dilemma (all of us!) and gives hope going forward.

What Darwin Didn't Know - Patrick Nurre
Transitional fossils are the great headache of secular scientists. Transitional fossils are missing just where they would most be needed to explain evolution. This seminar examines the fossil evidence precisely where transitional forms would be needed most – at the boundaries between kinds.

Discovering the Biblical Geology of Your State or Province - Patrick Nurre
Discover, perhaps for the first time, the geology of your own state, using the book of Genesis as a framework.

The Big Freeze in Genesis - Patrick Nurre
Probably the least understood of subjects in Earth history is the Ice Age and how it fits into a biblical worldview. We’ll examine the evidence for an Ice Age caused by the Genesis Flood, how it could fit into the period between Noah and Abraham, and reinforce confidence in what the Bible says historically.

Raising God-Honoring Teens in a Media-Driven Culture - Mark Martinez
Most parents feel unsure about the digital world their teens live in. This workshop explains how today’s online culture shapes young people mentally, emotionally, and socially, and provides practical, faith-informed strategies to guide them toward healthy digital habits. You’ll also discover helpful tools, resources, and strategies that make it easier to set boundaries and support your teen in managing their online life with wisdom.

More Than Conquerors - Sean Singleton
Our talk will discuss the biblical fact that Jesus said we are more than conquerors and that the gates of Hell will not prevail against the church. It’s is our goal to see every youth fully embrace and know the God of the Bible, not the one their situations and circumstances imagine Him to be, know who they are because of who God is, and how to kick the devil in the face! This begins with the parents “raising up a child in the way they should go.” Our youth are fighting for their identity and their future and as parents, we stand in the gap and equip them to be the overcomers Jesus said they are.

The Fathers '3-10 Initiative - Virgil Anderson
The EASIEST and MOST STRATEGIC way to influence Families, Churches, Communities, Countries, and the World for good. The topic motivates fathers of 3 to 10 year old children to spend 5 minutes , 3-4 times per week individually (NOT a family devotion time) with each of his children in the 3 to 10 age range. He uses 1) Child Evangelism Fellowship's 18 book, 60 lessons per book, systematic theology series, 2) and two week Journal to start the process.

Are We Raising the Last Generation That Knows How? Kody Hanner
We are raising the first generation of children expected to grow up without real-world skills, purpose, or connection to how life actually works—and we’re seeing the consequences. In this paradigm-shifting talk, Kody Hanner calls parents to reclaim their God-given role as the first teachers by reskilling the next generation through practical life skills, critical thinking, and emotional resilience. This message isn’t about prepping—it’s about preserving humanity, with Ron Hanner available to join and share a powerful father’s perspective.

Introduction to Civil Air Patrol - Glenn West
This program encourages leadership development in kids. We do this through teaching STEM lessons and Emergency lessons. Fits into the theme as we deal with leadership.

Building Biblical Literacy Lessons into Your Homeschool Day - Marchauna Rodgers

If faith is going to stick, it has to be built on a biblical foundation. Biblical literacy is an essential element of laying that foundation, but it is increasingly uncommon. Homeschool parents have a unique opportunity to ensure their children are not part of the startling statistic. This workshop is intended to demystify "biblical literacy" and help you see how to weave it into the regular rhythm of your school day without losing your mind.

Maximizing Math Instruction at Home - Noel Reimer
As a teacher, Noel Reimer has planned, instructed, and analyzed assessments for varying grade levels over the years. She will be breaking down the foundational knowledge needed for each grade-span. She will also be sharing targeted math research, resources, and tools that solidify math concepts for young students. There will be a question and answer time at the end for curious parents!

The Secret of Stickiness - Ezra Creighton
The key tools of for unlocking retention. Summary: This session explores the practical methods for helping children genuinely retain what they have been taught. Many of these will be concepts I've learned and used from my years of teaching kid camps from memory verses to broader lesson content. This fits with this year's theme of "Instilling a Faith that Sticks," with a focus on the teaching side of lasting faith.

Why Music - Janeen Graham

Over the years, the “arts” sometimes get neglected because we may feel they are not important or they are not a core subject. Why should we put music (and the arts) into our schedule? What are some of the benefits and how does it help us to learn better? During this workshop, Janeen Graham will explore some of the ways that music changes our viewpoints, our learning, and our lives.

I Love Literacy: Enhancing Reading and Phonics Lessons - Noel Reimer
In this hands-on workshop, the Founder of Forte Study Solutions shares tips and strategies to make reading and phonics fun and accessible. Plan a simple yet enjoyable learning activity that can adapt to your child's specific learning style.

EZRA & VICTORIA-JOY CREIGHTON & The TEAM at: - KIDONE CAMPS

The world is full of questions. Where did people come from? Why is there suffering in the world? What is my purpose in life? How am I supposed to live? Is there really a God? The kids growing up in this world have many questions. Today, we are seeing young people leave   the Church all because, as children, they were not given the answers to the many questions they have. They don’t understand what they believe. They don’t understand how God’s Word is relevant to their life. But the Bible, God’s Word, gives us the answers.

It is our mission at KidONE Camps to answer those questions. We are a Christian organization and base everything we do on God's Word. We answer every question with God’s Word. It is our vision for all children to have a solid foundation on God’s Word and answers to the questions of life. We invest in them because they will be the leaders of the next generation. They can make a difference in the world, and we want them to make that difference. This is not a job to us, it’s our purpose. This is our calling.
