Steve McCully is a retired school teacher who taught junior high school math here in Washington state for forty-two years. During the thirty-seven years he spent at the same school he also coached a variety of sports. During his career he taught a variety of “levels” of math from intervention for kids lacking in basic skills up through algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus. He has a love for kids and a passion for seeing them be successful working with numbers. He and a former student have developed MathPro, an instructional math tool designed to make working with numbers an easy, non-threatening and enjoyable process for students, parents, and teachers. Steve is the oldest son of missionary Ed McCully, one of five men killed in January of 1956 by a group of people they were trying to befriend in an effort to bring them the Good News (Great News, actually😊) that God loves them and wants to spend eternity with them. The story is one of the most well-known missionary stories of the twentieth century and Steve has had the privilege of sharing it countless times in a variety of settings for most of his adult life.
WORKSHOPS:
Family Missionary Story Steve is passionate about sharing his family's story and you won't want to miss it! His father, Ed McCully, was one of the missionaries killed by Waorani tribesmen in Ecuador, along with Jim Elliot, Nate Saint, and two others. It is one of the best-known missionary stories of the 20th century. It was first reported in Life Magazine in January of 1956 and later detailed in the book Through Gates of Splendor by the widow of one of the men killed. This story is a perfect example of what God tells us in Genesis 50:20 and is influencing people to love and serve Christ still today, 66 years later!
MathPro Games! Did you know that success in math is one of the keys to overall educational success? Did you know that working with numbers can be easy and learned in a non-threatening, enjoyable environment? Come see the activities and games we have for little ones learning to group and count and recognize numbers, up through elementary and middle school kids performing all of the basic mathematical operations and older kids working with perfect squares and square roots and using algebraic formulas to solve problems. MathPro has it all, and it is all fun!

WORKSHOP: Developing the Leaders of Tomorrow More and more executive head hunters are looking for people with "soft skills" to fill corner offices, people who are compassionate, know how to listen, and can treat other people with respect. Unfortunately, those skills are increasingly difficult to come by. The reality is, what we think are universal values are actually biblical values. As Christian parents we can help our children grow their "soft skills" by helping them understand where they come from. We can also help our children understand the difference between being a leader and being an influencer, giving them the tools to be an influencer regardless of what their title may be. Come hear specific strategies for helping your children become anti-fragile, understand leadership vs influence, value vs performance, and the true measure of success. Pulled from the latest books on leadership, parenting, and education, then integrated with a biblical worldview, this is a nuts-and-bolts workshop that will help you develop your children to be the leaders of tomorrow.
Jennifer Caraway My husband and I have homeschooled our children from the start. We were both public schoolers and felt that we could do a better job for our kids. Plus we enjoy having them around! Both of us homeschool the kids.

Ron Hauenstein is the founder of the Spokane Fatherhood Initiative, a faith-based non-profit that works to restore the importance, honor, value and dignity of fatherhood. His passion for the fatherless was birthed in his experience as a volunteer at the Union Gospel Mission’s Crisis Shelter for Women and Children. As Ron ministered to moms and kids, he witnessed the family devastation that comes from fatherlessness.
Ron and his wife Becky attend Victory Faith Fellowship in the Spokane Valley and have lived in Spokane since 1993. They have two grown children. Ron also is the self-proclaimed King of Dad Jokes.
SpoFI is founded on the belief that fatherlessness is the root cause of nearly all of the society’s problems. SpoFI provides fatherhood and parent training classes, direct support for dads and families and stages community events to change the culture.
WORKSHOP - The Father Faculty: Rules for Dads Who Teach Children constantly observe their fathers, which means Dad is always teaching something! This workshop will help you (1) understand how most lessons from Dad are “caught,” not taught, (2) learn how to praise children without creating an entitlement mentality and (3) strengthen your child’s emotional foundation and identity by meeting their two most fundamental needs.
Nathan Henry is directing Spokane127, a faith-based, non-profit ministry under the Spokane Fatherhood Initiative. We are working to see healthy families waiting for every child - inspiring, recruiting, and resourcing the local church to foster and adopt the kids in their own backyards.
Nathan and his wife, Rami, recent transplants to Spokane, adopted their three kids through foster care in Denver, Colorado, where they themselves benefitted from the ministry of Project1.27. As they walked along side other foster families who had NOT gone through this ministry, they noted the clear contrast – how much more beautiful their own journey was because of Project1.27’s involvement. A year after having moved to Spokane, in obedience to the Lord, not knowing exactly why – God revealed the space for something like Project.127 here in Spokane. As Nathan investigated, he quickly discovered the Spokane Fatherhood Initiative already housed a seed of a Spokane127 and that they’d been praying 2 YEARS for a gardener.
After serving over 30 years as a lay minister in the church and 19 years as an account manager in the corporate world, this is a new chapter for Nathan. We’re excited to see how God tailors things to fit Washington’s dynamics, strengths, and needs.
Nathan and his family attend North Church and have lived in Colbert since 2019.
WORKSHOP: The Father Faculty: Rules for Dads Who Teach Children constantly observe their fathers, which means Dad is always teaching something! This workshop will help you (1) understand how most lessons from Dad are “caught,” not taught, (2) learn how to praise children without creating an entitlement mentality and (3) strengthen your child’s emotional foundation and identity by meeting their two most fundamental needs.
Nathan will be presenting the same workshop that Ron Hauenstein is presenting; the infomration is so important, we wanted to offer it twice!

WORKSHOPS: FRIDAY, APRIL 29 TH , 2022 THE BIGGEST QUESTION – Session #1 (2:30-4:00pm) INCLUDES SNACK Everything comes down to The Biggest Question: “Does God exist?” Everything in our life is based on how we answer this question. But can we really know if God exists? Is there any evidence for His existence? There are a lot of people who say God isn’t real. How do we know? In this session we answer The Biggest Question with answers from the Bible.
THE GOOD QUESTION – Session #3 (6:30-7:45pm) How can there be a loving God when bad things happen to good people? Why are there bad things at all? If God is good and loves us, wouldn't He keep anything bad from happening to us? Where is God during tornadoes or earthquakes or wars? In this camp we answer The Good Question through the life of the man named Job.
SATURDAY, APRIL 30 TH , 2022 THE BAD QUESTION – Session #4 (9:00-10:30am) INCLUDES SNACK Is sin really a big deal? If God is loving, can’t He just overlook sin and not send anyone to Hell? But wait, is this the real God revealed to us in the Bible? In this session, we’ll look at The Bad Question, and find out what God’s Word tells us about God’s holiness, how He is a just Judge, and how this affects us.
THE LOVING QUESTION – Session #7 (2:00-4:00pm) INCLUDES SNACK TIME PERFORMANCE IN WORSHIP CENTER We’ve got a big problem. We try to live a perfect life, but we’ve all sinned. Does God look down on us and reject us because we can’t do it right? Does God even care about us or is He just a distant being that isn’t involved with this world anymore? Session 4 asks The Loving Question, and we look at the truth in the Bible to discover God’s true character to answer this question.
Radical Rick has provided hands-on science programs to children in the Inland Empire since September 2000. No, seriously, he LOVES blowing stuff up! It should be noted that safety is top priority! While Rick enjoys introducing children to the incredible world around us through fun and exciting science demonstrations, his number one rule is always “Safety first.” Rick is the owner of Extreme Science.
