Topic:  Homeschooling for Today and Tomorrow!
Speakers:  Scott and DiAnna Brannan

This two part presentation is designed to not only be informational but also to inspire the new to seasoned homeschool family. The Brannans will discuss the homeschool movement, where we have been, where we are going, and what we need to do to preserve our homeschool freedoms for our children and our children’s children.

Part One-Scott will share an overall vision for home education and why he believes this was the best decision they even made for their two, now adult, children. He will share some highlights of the homeschool movement, some successes and some pitfalls. DiAnna will share some words of encouragement for the moms.

Part Two-Scott and DiAnna will focus on some of the current issues that are affecting homeschool freedoms- what you need to know, and what you can do. CHN maintains a presence in Olympia through volunteer lobbying and advocacy efforts, and organizes an annual Home Educators’ Day at the Capital Day event. They will give you a legislative update, what is in store for the future, and will conclude with a Q & A session.

Preserving Homeschool freedoms for Today and Tomorrow!
Scott and DiAnna Brannan have been married twenty-eight years and are the parents of two adult children, both of whom were homeschooled from the beginning of their schooling venture. The Brannans have served on the board of a state homeschool organization, local homeschool organization and help co-found a homeschool co-op where they also taught classes. In 2003 they founded the Christian Homeschool Network of Washington (CHN), with a mission of communicating with legislators and home educators regarding legislative and local issues that affect homeschooling in the state of Washington.  CHN is the legislative liaison to Christian Heritage Home Educators of WA.
